Ifelodun Local Council Development (July 2021 – February 2025)

Summary of Programs Across Various Sectors

Infrastructure

  • Construction of drainage and interlocking roads across multiple streets.
  • Ongoing construction of state-of-the-art Executive Building at the council Secretariat.
  • Improvement/modernization of existing structures (Cladding of the Council Secretariat, fencing, etc.).
  • Ongoing road construction Market Phase 2, Fijabi, Oyedeji, etc.
  • Construction of 14 water systems across the 7 wards.
  • Installation of solar streetlights at major streets.

Education

  • Distribution of free GCE and JAMB registration support to students, with an average of 3000 forms distributed.
  • Distribution of school uniforms, bags, and other writing materials to 10,000 pupils.
  • Provision of 1000 furniture for schools in Ifelodun LCDA ongoing.
  • Bursary for more than 250 higher institution students.

Healthvv

  • Health support programs (2021 & 2022) focused on providing essential healthcare services.
  • Oke-Medicine offers periodic free medical checkups and free drugs for the community.
  • Enrollment of 1200 residents in Ifelodun LCDA for OkeHealth Support through LASHMA.

Skill Acquisition & Empowerments

  • Oke-Mega Empowerment programs cater for more than 850 beneficiaries with distribution of various goods.
  • Empowerment programs include training of 100 youths in bakery skills.
  • Official cars presented to Executive Members, Legislative council, Management staff, and others.

Security and Safety

  • Establishment of local security outfit (Ifelodun Security Corps).
  • Provision of utility van for ISM, firefighting vehicle, and utility vans for various local groups.

Environment

  • Recruitment of Drain-Duck Gangs for clearing of drainages across the 7 wards.
  • Carting/Distilling of drainages on a weekly basis.

Agriculture & Palliative

  • Fish Farming, Oke-Food program, distributing food to 1500 households on a monthly basis.
  • Ounje-Arugbo, Ounje-Adugbo, Oke Food Palliatives, Oke-Money offering business support to 100 petty traders.

Tourism & Community Engagement

  • Community initiatives like the annual Xmas Carol, Ramadan Lecture, and National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST).

ICT

  • Tech training for teenagers and young adults, coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence.
  • STEM competition for Secondary Schools in Ifelodun.

Sports

  • Promoting Inter-primary school football competition, annual Ramadan cup, etc.

Score Cards

  • OKEMONEY: More than 1300 beneficiaries till date
  • OKEBURSARY: More than 250 Ifelodun students benefited
  • OKEFOOD PALLIATIVES: More than 12,800 beneficiaries till date
  • OKE AGED: 1000 beneficiaries (2nd Phase ongoing)
  • OKE YOUTH: 1000 beneficiaries (2nd Phase ongoing)
